I was invited to deliver the plenary lecture at the national Turkish pharmacognosy conference in Ankara Turkey at Hacettepe University.
This meeting of Turkish natural products scientists and professors occurs biannually and has been taking place since 1972.
During the meeting Professor İhsan Çalı presented on the history of this meeting and the history of pharmacognosy research in Turkey.
Professor Çalı highlighted past invited speakers including former UIC faculty Dr. Geoffery Cordell and Dr. Doug Kinghorn.
In my presentation I focused my research on rosemary and mangosteen discussing the anti-cancer properties in prostate cancer.
In addition, I highlighted the pharmacokinetic properties of phytochemicals in relation to the pharmacodynamic properties.
